Orville Eugene Faubus (January 7, 1910 – December 14, 1994) was a six-term Democratic Governor of Arkansas, having served from 1955 to 1967. He is best known for his 1957 stand against the desegregation of Little Rock public schools during the Little Rock Crisis, in which he defied a unanimous decision of the United States Supreme Court by ordering the Arkansas National Guard to stop African American students from attending Little Rock Central High School.

In 1957, in the wake of the Brown v. Board decision, U.S. President Dwight Eisenhower enforced the Supreme Court's 1954 school desegregation order by sending US Army troops to Little Rock, Arkansas to protect the "Little Rock Nine" students' entry to school. Governor Orval Faubus had mobilized troops from the Arkansas National Guard to prevent the students' entry. Eisenhower federalized the National Guard, as he had the authority to do, and also used the US Army to ensure that the federal mandate was carried out at Little Rock Central High School. Eisenhower thus set a precedent for the Executive Branch to enforce Supreme Court rulings related to racial integration.
McCain playing the POW card

Arkansas is not that bad anymore. They have been doing a lot of road work there over the past few years. There is a satire paper for truckers that named Arkansas the worlds biggest vibrator. There was another article after the CA gay marriages where a trucker found a loophole in their law and was able to marry himself. It didn't workout that well. He ended up divorcing himself due to sexual harassment and just not able to live with himself any longer...

With the aid of scholarships, Clinton attended the Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., receiving a Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service (B.S.F.S.) degree in 1968. He spent the summer of 1967, the summer before his senior year, working as an intern for Arkansas Senator J. William Fulbright.[14] While in college he became a brother of Alpha Phi Omega and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa.[19] Clinton was also a member of Youth Order of DeMolay, but he never actually became a Freemason.[20] He is a member of Kappa Kappa Psi's National Honorary Band Fraternity, Inc.

Upon graduation he won a Rhodes Scholarship to University College, Oxford where he studied Government.[15] He developed an interest in rugby union, playing at Oxford and later for the Little Rock Rugby club in Arkansas. While at Oxford he also participated in Vietnam War protests, including organizing an October 1969 Moratorium event.[14] In later life he admitted to smoking cannabis at the university, but claimed that he "never inhaled".[15

"The Arkansas man who accused Hillary Rodham Clinton last month of uttering an anti-Semitic slur in 1974 has passed a lie-detector test arranged by The Post. Paul Fray, who has charged Mrs. Clinton called him a "f- - -ing Jew bastard" after Bill Clinton lost his race for Congress, cleared the polygraph exam administered Sunday near his home here. "There's no doubt in my mind that Mr. Fray is truthful," concluded state-licensed Arkansas polygrapher Jeff Hubanks, who gave the three-hour test. . . The findings were reviewed yesterday by another expert, Richard Keifer, a former head of the FBI's polygraph unit who has 20 years of experience. Keifer judged the results "inconclusive" because they didn't meet the high federal polygraph standards - but said he found nothing to indicate Fray was lying.

The Value of Women to Bill Clinton
Perhaps the most enduring legacy Bill Clinton will leave America is the elevation of sex becoming a household word and topic of discussion. Before leaving office he blazed a trail of adultery and deceit never before seen in the highest office of the United States.

According to Hillary Clinton's spokeswoman, Marsha Berry, Hillary Clinton first learned over the weekend prior to his grand jury testimony that her husband would testify to having an improper relationship with Monica Lewinsky at the White House. The first lady issued a statement of support for her husband, saying through her spokeswoman that she remains “committed to her marriage and loves her husband.” For months, she defended her husband against allegations of an affair, dismissing them as a “right-wing conspiracy.”

In Jan. 1994, The American Spectator published an article detailing claims by two Arkansas state troopers who facilitated extramarital affairs and claimed to have seen then-Gov. Bill Clinton in compromising positions with dozens of women. Trooper Larry Patterson stated that since 1987, there were numerous long-term liaisons with women including the now well-known relationship with Gennifer Flowers. These included a staffer in Clinton's office; an Arkansas lawyer who was a Clinton appointee to a judgeship; the wife of a prominent judge; a local reporter; an employee at Arkansas Power and Light, and a cosmetic sales clerk at a Little rock department store.

There were also many brief affairs and one-time encounters involving Clinton and numerous women. The Arkansas state troopers said they were often called upon to act as intermediaries to arrange and conceal Clinton's extramarital encounters. They said they frequently picked up and delivered gifts from Clinton to various women, and often drove Clinton to meetings with women. "We were more than bodyguards. We had to lie, cheat and cover up for that man," said Larry Patterson.[Los Angeles Times, Dec. 21, 1993]

The Sunday Telegraph of London reported the story of Sally Perdue who told of having a relationship with Clinton in 1983 when he was Arkansas governor. Shortly after her story appeared in the press, she says, a man identifying himself as Ron Tucker called her and claimed to represent the local Democratic Party. He offered her a lifetime federal job if she would be silent, she says. Then, she says, he threatened her with physical arm if she refused to cooperate. Tucker allegedly threatened that Perdue would lose her job at nearby Lindenwood College if she talked to the press again. Miss Perdue refused to cooperate and after she talked to the press again, she lost her job in the college admissions office. Shortly thereafter, Miss Perdue says, she began receiving threats. She received a letter which read, "I'll pray you have a head-on collision and end up in a coma...Marilyn Monroe got snuffed. It could happen." She then found a live shotgun cartridge on the driver's seat of her can and the rear window was shattered. Miss Perdue is angered by the fact that her story has never been told in the American media in a way that she feels is accurate or fait. "I've had it with the American press," she told the Telegraph. "I think it's going to take a foreign paper to bring this whole thing out. You know, they've protected Bill Clinton in a way they've never protected anybody in the history of America."

The Sunday Telegraph of London reported of the case of Gary Johnson, an Arkansas lawyer, who announced that he had a videotape of Clinton going into the apartment of his neighbor, Gennifer Flowers. Shortly afterwards, on June 26, 1992, three men appeared at his door, beat him unconscious and stole the tapes. The Telegraph also cites reports of mysterious break-ins suffered by The American Spectator magazine as it prepared to publish accusations by two Arkansas State Police troopers.

HITLARY's Presidential qualifications:

In preparation for her unchallenged role as America’s Scandal Queen, Hillary navigated the shoals of Arkansas politics for 12 years as the then-governor's wife – years that included scandals of her own, among them:

▪ A $100,000 windfall from cattle futures after a $1,000 investment.

• The Castle Grande real estate scam.

• Her role as attorney for the Rose law firm in what would become the endlessly controversial-cum-criminal Whitewater affair that would follow her to the White House.

• The serial philandering of her husband, which cast her – depending on one's viewpoint – as a clench-jawed stoic, a perpetual victim, or a willing collaborator.

According to veteran journalist Richard Poe: "During Bill Clinton's tenure as attorney general and then governor of Arkansas, the state became a veritable Dixie Casablanca, a hotbed of global intrigue, in which shady operators ranging from Columbian drug lords and BCCI money launderers to Chinese intelligence agents took part." And there, in the thick of it, was Clinton's "stand by your man's" wife, Hillary.

If Hillary wins

continuedBill says: Hillary spent a year after graduation working on a children's
rights project for poor kids.

The facts are: Hillary interned with Bob Truehaft, the head of the
California Communist Party. She met Bob when he represented the Panthers,
and traveled all the way to San Francisco to take an internship with him.

Bill says: Hillary could have written her own job ticket, but she turned
down all the lucrative job offers.

The facts are: She flunked the D.C. bar exam and only passed the Arkansas
bar. She had no job offers in Arkansas, and only got hired by the University
of Arkansas Law School at Fayetteville because Bill was already teaching
there. She only joined the prestigious Rose Law Firm after Bill became
Attorney General, and made partner only after he was elected governor.

Bill says: President Carter appointed Hillary to the Legal Services Board
of Directors, and she became its chairman.

The facts are: The appointment was in exchange for Bill's support for
Carter in his 1980 primary against Ted Kennedy. Hillary became chairman in a
coup in which she won a majority away from Carter's choice to be chairman.

Bill says: She served on the board of the Arkansas Children's Hospital.

The facts are: Yes she did. But her main board activity, not mentioned by
Bill, was to sit on the Wal-Mart board of directors, for a substantial fee.
She was silent about their labor and health care practices.

Bill says: Hillary didn't succeed at getting health care for all Americans
in 1994, but she kept working at it, and helped to create the Children's
Health Insurance Program (CHIP), that provides five million children with
health insurance.

The facts are: Hillary had nothing to do with creating CHIP. It was
included in the budget deal between Clinton and Republican Majority Leader
Senator Trent Lott. I helped to negotiate the deal. The money came half from
the budget deal and half from the Attorney Generals' tobacco settlement.
Hillary had nothing to do with either source of funds.

Arkansas Legislature Attempting to Ban Gay Foster Parents
Posted By: dzzyred
Bill moved out of Arkansas Senate and is Heading to its House.

The bill would put into law a ban on gay foster parents that was state policy when it was struck down by the Arkansas Supreme Court last year, and would also any ban other unmarried couples, as well as gays, from becoming either foster parents or adopting children.

Well, let's hear the views on this one??

"It was my understanding his license was revoked versus that he voluntarily surrendered same, but I am not sure. Thanks! "

Six and one half a dozen if you ask me. He apparantly voluntarily gave it up but he did so in response to the plea bargain. The Arkansas Bar was going to take it anyway. Now from a practical standpoint, Clinton gave up nothing except cash. He hadn't practiced law since the 1980's (only gave it up for 5 years) and paid a fine of $25000 (I think the Arkansas Bar wanted $90,000)
